For Designs Too Detailed to Shrink

Some designs refuse to be reduced. A family crest with six heraldic elements. An architectural illustration that needs every column visible. A wedding monogram wrapped in botanical filigree so fine that anything under 50mm would blur it into suggestion. Our Custom Large Format Wax Seal Stamp Head isn't a bigger version of our standard stamps. It's a different category of tool — built for the designs that demand space, the details that won't compromise, and the people who look at a 40mm stamp and think: I need more room.

Five sizes. 50mm to 100mm. Solid brass. Precision-engraved from your artwork. Free unlimited design proofs. One stamp head — no handle, no kit, just the brass. The canvas your design deserves.

🏛️ Built for This

🔍 Complex Designs That Need Room to Breathe — Heraldic crests. Family coats of arms. Architectural illustrations. Multi-element monograms. Detailed maps. Botanical plates. Designs where every thin line, every serif, every petal has to be legible. At 50mm and above, nothing gets lost. Nothing merges. Every element holds its shape.
🏆 Collector-Grade Impressions — A 100mm wax seal isn't stationery. It's an artifact. These are the seals that go into shadow boxes, onto gallery walls, into family archives. The ones passed down with the silver and the photo albums. For when the seal is the gift.
💍 Statement Wedding Seals — An 80mm crest on your wedding invitation isn't a detail. It's the first thing guests see. Before the date. Before the venue. Before your names. A seal that size says: this is not an ordinary invitation. This is not an ordinary wedding.
🏢 Brand Marks That Own the Envelope — If your brand identity lives in the details — thin strokes, layered typography, intricate iconography — those details die at 25mm. At 60mm, they thrive. A large format stamp on client packaging, certificate folders, or VIP correspondence is the opposite of subtle. That's the point.
📜 Archival & Museum Use — Library seals. Archive marks. Institutional insignias. The kind of stamp that presses into the inside cover of a rare book and stays there for a century. Built for permanence, precision, and the weight of what it represents.

✨ Why Choose Large Format?

  • 🔍 Detail Preservation — At 50mm and above, fine lines remain fine lines. Hairline serifs survive. Cross-hatching doesn't merge into a solid block. The engraving is the same precision as our standard stamps — there's just more of it. More space. More breathing room. More legibility for the details that matter.
  • 🏅 Solid Brass, Museum Scale — Each head is machined from solid brass — heavier, denser, and more substantial than standard stamp heads. The weight alone tells you this is different before you even press it into wax.
  • 📐 Five Oversized Options — 50mm. 60mm. 70mm. 80mm. 100mm. Each step up is a significant jump in presence — 100mm is four times the diameter of our standard 25mm. The wax pool it needs is substantial. The impression it leaves is unforgettable.
  • 🖼️ Unlimited Free Design Proofs — Send your artwork. We'll create a proof. You'll revise it until every element, every proportion, every line weight is exactly right. We won't engrave until you say it's perfect — and with a design this detailed, that matters more than ever.
  • 🔗 Universal Thread Fit — Works with all standard handles, including our solid brass handle (recommended for the extra weight needed at this scale) and our beechwood handles.
  • 🌿 Kind to the Earth — Packaged in kraft paper and eco-friendly cardboard. Every order plants a tree.

📋 How It Works

  1. Choose Your Size — 50mm to 100mm. Your design determines the size: the more detail, the larger you should go. Our team can advise when you submit your artwork.
  2. Place Your Order — Complete checkout.
  3. Submit Your Design — Email service@slvara.com with your order number and artwork. High-resolution SVG or PNG preferred. For complex designs, vector files (SVG, AI, EPS) produce the sharpest engravings.
  4. Review Your Proof — Within 2–3 business days. Study every detail at full size. Zoom in. Check every line. Request changes — unlimited and free — until it's right.
  5. We Engrave & Ship — Once approved: 3–5 business days to engrave. 8–10 business days to ship. Total: approximately 2–3 weeks.

📏 Size Guide

Size Diameter Best For
50mm 2 inches Detailed monograms, multi-element crests, botanical illustrations — the entry point to large format
60mm 2.4 inches Family coats of arms, architectural drawings, brand marks with fine typography
70mm 2.8 inches Elaborate crests, museum-style impressions, collector-grade statement pieces
80mm 3.1 inches Institutional seals, gallery-worthy impressions, the seal that defines the envelope
100mm 3.9 inches Maximum impact. Archive marks. Artifacts in wax. The largest custom stamp we make.

🔗 Recommended Pairings

  • Handle: The Solid Brass Handle (100g+) is strongly recommended for large format stamps — the additional weight helps control the larger wax pool. A wooden handle works, but the extra mass of brass makes larger impressions more consistent.
  • Wax: Large format stamps consume more wax per seal — roughly 4–8 granules for 50mm, 8–12 for 100mm. We recommend ordering at least 200g of wax granules with your stamp to account for the larger pours.
  • Spoon: Our standard melting spoon holds 3–4 granules. For 80mm+, you may need two pours per seal. Start your wax collection accordingly.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much wax does a large format seal use?
A: Significantly more than standard sizes. A 50mm seal uses roughly 3–5 times the wax of a 25mm seal. A 100mm seal can use 8–12 times as much. Budget accordingly — if you're sealing 100 invitations with an 80mm stamp, order at least 500g of wax granules.

Q: Will these fit on a standard envelope?
A: 50mm and 60mm stamps fit on most standard A7 and larger envelopes. 70mm and above work best on oversized envelopes (A9, 6x9, square formats) or as decorative seals on the front of flat cards. Consider your envelope size before choosing your stamp size — a 100mm seal on a small envelope will dominate the entire back flap.

Q: Is the engraving quality the same as your standard stamps?
A: The engraving process and precision are identical. The difference is that at larger sizes, fine details are inherently sharper — the same line is physically wider at 80mm than at 25mm, giving the engraving tool more room to render it cleanly. Complex designs that look slightly crowded at 25mm often look perfect at 50mm+.

Q: What's the best handle for a large format stamp?
A: The Solid Brass Handle — the extra 100g+ weight gives you more control when pressing a larger wax pool. A standard wooden handle works, but the additional mass of brass makes consistent impressions significantly easier at this scale.

Q: Can I use this with a standard wax warmer and spoon?
A: Yes, but you'll likely need multiple pours per seal for 60mm and above. The spoon holds 3–4 granules, which is usually enough for one 25–30mm seal. For larger seals, melt and pour 2–3 spoonfuls into the same wax pool, working quickly so the wax doesn't set between pours. Or simply use a larger spoon if you have one.

Q: Is this returnable if I chose the wrong size?
A: Custom stamps are made specifically for you and cannot be returned for personal preference — which is why we offer unlimited free design proofs. Our team can also advise on size when you submit your artwork. If you're torn between two sizes, email us before ordering and we'll help you decide.
