Q: I'm completely new to wax sealing. What do I need to start?
A: The essentials are: (1) a wax seal stamp — either a custom design or a blank one you engrave; (2) a wooden handle to hold your stamp head; (3) sealing wax — granules or sticks; (4) a wax seal spoon to melt granules; and (5) a wax warmer or candle to provide heat. Our Starter Kit bundles all of these together — the fastest way to begin.
Q: How do I actually make a wax seal?
A: Place 3–4 wax granules in your spoon. Hold the spoon over a flame until the wax fully melts. Pour the melted wax onto your envelope in a circular motion. Press your stamp firmly into the wax pool and hold for 5–10 seconds. Lift gently — your seal is set. With wax sticks: hold the stick by hand, place one end into the spoon bowl, melt over a flame, just like granules. Or use an 11mm glue gun for direct extrusion.
Q: Which is better for beginners — granules or sticks?
A: Both work, but they suit different styles. Granules are easier to portion — just scoop 3–4 into your spoon, melt, and pour. Sticks are continuous — hold, melt in the spoon, and pour without reloading. Many crafters keep both and choose based on the project: granules for careful, color-mixing sessions; sticks for high-volume envelope marathons. Start with granules — they're the most forgiving.
Q: How many wax seals can I make per gram or stick?
A: A rough guide: 1.2g of wax ≈ 1 standard 25mm seal. So 50g makes ~35-40 seals; 100g makes ~70-80 seals. One wax stick makes approximately 10 seals. For a wedding with 80 invitations, we recommend 100g of granules or 10 sticks — with a little extra for practice.

Q: What's your wax made of?
A: Our sealing wax is formulated with Natural Resin + Plant Wax Base. No petroleum-based paraffin, no synthetic fillers. It's non-toxic, virtually odor-free, and melts clean without releasing harmful fumes.
Q: What's the difference between Timeless, Bold & Bright, and Trend Palette?
A: Timeless is our classic, enduring color collection — gold, navy, burgundy, forest green. Colors that never go out of style. Bold & Bright is our statement collection — jelly powder pink, electric blue, neon orange, vibrant purple. Colors that demand attention. Q: Are your heart-shaped, flower-shaped, and star-shaped granules actually those shapes?
A: Yes — each granule is pressed into its respective shape. The heart, flower, or star is the granule itself. Once melted, they become smooth liquid wax just like any standard granule. The shape is a charming detail for the preparation ritual, not the final seal form.
Q: Does your wax have a smell?
A: At room temperature — virtually none. When heated and melted, the wax base and natural resin will release their own subtle, natural scent. This is a characteristic of plant-based waxes and resins — not a chemical additive or defect. We recommend using our sealing wax in a well-ventilated area, especially during extended sessions. If you'd like to add fragrance to your workspace, pair your wax with our scented candles — they scent the air gently while you work, not the wax itself.
Q: Will my wax seals survive mailing?
A: Yes. Our wax is formulated to be flexible rather than brittle — it absorbs handling stress without cracking. Whether your envelopes travel locally or internationally, your seals arrive intact.
Q: Can I mix different wax colors in one seal?
A: Absolutely. Melt a few granules of one color, then a few of another in the same spoon. Pour together for a marbled effect. All our waxes blend smoothly and evenly — experiment freely.

Q: Do I need a wax seal spoon if I'm using wax sticks?
A: Wax sticks do not contain a wick and cannot burn on their own. To use them, simply hold the stick by hand, place one end into the spoon bowl, and hold the spoon over a flame. The wax melts directly in the spoon — no cutting, no prepping. Alternatively, use an 11mm sealing wax glue gun, which heats the stick internally and extrudes melted wax with a trigger. The spoon gives you more control; the glue gun is faster for high-volume sealing.
Q: How do I clean wax residue from the spoon?
A: Let the residual wax cool and harden completely, then simply peel it off in one piece. Any remaining thin film wipes off easily with a tissue while the spoon is still slightly warm. No water, no soap, no scrubbing needed.
Q: Will the spoon handle get hot?
A: The handle is designed to stay cool during normal use. Hold it by the grip, keep the bowl over the flame, and your hand stays comfortable.
Q: Which wooden handle shape is best for beginners?
A: The short cylindrical is the most intuitive — it feels like holding a pen cap. For long sealing sessions, try the radish-shaped — its ergonomic curve significantly reduces hand fatigue. All five shapes fit all stamp heads, so you can switch later.
Q: Will a blank stamp head fit my existing handle?
A: If your handle uses the standard threaded screw fitting — which most interchangeable wax seal stamps do — then yes. Our blank stamp heads use the universal thread size.
Q: Does a blank stamp head come engraved?
A: No — it's a blank brass canvas. You can take it to a local engraver, or order through our custom stamp service — we'll handle the design and engraving for you.
Q: Which stamp head shape is best for a wedding monogram?
A: Circle, oval, and plum blossom are the most popular choices. Circle is timeless and versatile. Oval adds vintage charm. Plum blossom symbolizes resilience and beauty — a meaningful choice for a marriage.

Q: What are your scented candles made of?
A: 100% US-origin soy wax, fragrance oils from Firmenich, Givaudan, Symrise, and CPL Aromas, and an Atkins & Pearce wick. 15g per candle — burns for up to 3 hours. No paraffin, no black smoke.
Q: Who are Firmenich, Givaudan, Symrise, and CPL?
A: They're the world's leading fragrance houses — the same companies that create scents for luxury perfumes, five-star hotels, and premium home fragrance brands. We name them because they're worth naming.
Q: Do the candles produce black smoke?
A: No. Pure soy wax paired with a precision Atkins & Pearce wick produces a clean flame with no visible smoke. Your warmer stays clean, your spoon stays clean, and your air stays clear.
Q: Why does the flame get smaller after burning for a while?
A: This is completely normal. As the candle burns, the heat warms the glass holder, which melts some surrounding wax. The liquefied wax can rise and partially submerge the wick, causing the flame to shrink. Simply swap in a fresh candle and let the affected one rest undisturbed for 5–7 minutes. The wax will re-solidify and the candle will be ready to use again.
Q: How long does one candle last?
A: Each 15g candle burns for up to 3 hours — enough for roughly 30–50 seals depending on your pace.
Q: Will the fragrance fill the whole room?
A: The scent is designed to be pleasant and present in your immediate workspace without being overpowering. It's a gentle, ambient fragrance — aromatherapy for your sealing ritual, not an air freshener.
Q: Are the fragrance oils natural?
A: We use a blend of natural essential oils and nature-identical fragrance oils, formulated to deliver a true, clean scent without synthetic harshness. No phthalates, no parabens.

A: (1) Place your order and select your size. (2) After checkout, email us your design — a photo, sketch, logo, or written description. (3) Our design team creates a digital proof within 2–3 business days and sends it for your review. (4) You approve the proof — or request revisions until you're happy.
